The Honda GLX 1500 Gold Wing was a Four stroke, opposed boxer six cylinders, SOHC, 2 valve per cylinder Touring motorcycle produced by Honda between 1989 and 1994. Max torque was 110.64 ft/lbs (150.0 Nm) @ 4000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 100.04 HP (74.6 KW) @ 5200 RPM.

Engine

A 71.1mm bore x 71.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1520.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a 5-Speed manual transmission.

Chassis

It came with a 130/70-18 front tire and a 160/80-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double disc 296 mm in the front and a Single disc 316 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Air adjustable telescopic forks while the rear was equipped with a Pro-link air adjustable.

The maximum power of the Honda GLX 1500 Gold Wing was 73.5 kW or nearly 100 hp at 5200 rpm. With a maximum torque of 150 Nm or 15.3 kgm at 4000 rpm the GL1500 had an impressive tractive power. Furthermore the GLX 1500 was provided with five gears of which the last one was an overdrive. With a fuel tank capacity of well over 23 Litresa fairly radius of action could be achieved. The dry weight was well over 360 kg.
