The MZ 1000 SF Special was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, parallel twin cylinder Naked motorcycle produced by MZ in 2006. Max torque was 72.28 ft/lbs (98.0 Nm) @ 7000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 116.94 HP (87.2 KW) @ 8000 RPM.

Engine

A 96.5mm bore x 96.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 999.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 240mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Marzocchi upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Sachs monoshock. The wheelbase was 56.89 inches (1445 mm) long.

The 2006 MY MZ 1000 SF Special is a limited edition machine, and has been produced in only 25 units. It boasts a special paint scheme and blacked-out components, as well as all the features found on the base model, such as the Marzocchi upside-down fork, the Sachs adjustable monoshock, the dual Nissin brake discs in the front, or the small, nose-fairing.

In the tech/engine department, it sports a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 999cc, parallel twin cylinder powerhouse mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 117 horsepower and 98 Nm of torque.
