The Petronas FP1 was a Liquid Cooled, 3 Cylinders In Line, 4 Strokes, 4 Valves Per Cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Petronas in 2003. Max torque was 78.92 ft/lbs (107.0 Nm) @ 11250 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 190.02 HP (141.7 KW) @ 14500 RPM.

Drive

The bike has a 6 Speed transmission.

Chassis

It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 190/55-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x320 Mm Discs With 4-piston Calipers in the front and a Single 220 Mm Disc With 2-piston Calipers in the rear. The front suspension was a Ohlins Upside-down Fork while the rear was equipped with a Monoshock Low Linkage. The wheelbase was 55.91 inches (1420 mm) long.

The FP1 began as a prototype engine but in less then one year it became the first Malaysian superbike. It had gear driven dual overhead camshafts and very strong internal engine parts. One hundred units of the road version of the Petronas FP1 were manufactured.
