The engine was a liquid cooled Liquid-cooled, 1-cylinder, 2-stroke. A 43.2mm bore x 43.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 60.0 cubic centimeters.

The bike has a 6-Speed transmission.

It came with a 60/100-14 30M front tire and a 80/100-12 41M rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic, Leading Axle while the rear was equipped with a Link-type, Fully-adjustable Spring Preload. The RM60 was fitted with a 0.92 Gallon (3.50 Liters) fuel tank.
