The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, single cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves. The engine featured a 10.0:1 compression ratio.

It came with a 90/90-16 front tire and a 100/90-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single disc 2 piston caliper in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Centre axle 33mm forks while the rear was equipped with a Single shock, adjustable spring preload. The SRX250F was fitted with a 9 Liters / 2.3 US gal fuel tank.
