The Yamaha SRX 250F was a Single cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled Touring motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 1984. Max torque was 16.96 ft/lbs (23.0 Nm) @ 8500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 17.03 HP (12.7 KW) @ 9000 RPM.

Engine

A 73.7mm bore x 73.7mm stroke result in a displacement of just 249.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.

Chassis

It came with a 90/90-16 front tire and a 100/90-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single dsic in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic forks while the rear was equipped with a Single shock.

The six-speed gearbox is sweet, the clutch light and the motor bursts into life with one half-hearted prod of the kick-start. The only thing it doesn’t do like a British classic, is leak oil.
