A 76.2mm bore x 76.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1101.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 100/90-19 front tire and a 130/90-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual Discs in the front and a Single Disc in the rear. The front suspension was a 36mm Air Assisted Forks while the rear was equipped with a Dual Shocks Spring Preload And Rebound Damping Adjustable. The wheelbase was 60.79 inches (1544 mm) long.

The Yamaha 1982 XJ 1100 (also known as the Yamaha XS Eleven) was fashionably late. Liter bikes from Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki were already at the dance and making a name for themselves. Although the competing entries filled different needs, each was powered by an engine displacing 1000 cc or more.
