The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, longitudinal 65° V four , DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 13.0:1 compression ratio.

Power was moderated via the Cassette type.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 200/55 ZR 17 (alternative: 190/50 ZR 17; 190/55 ZR17) rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x Ø320 mm diameter floating stainless steel disc with lightweight stainless steel rotor and aluminum flange with 6 pins. Brembo monobloc radial calipers with 4 x Ø34 mm opposite. Sintered pads. Radial pump and metal braided brake hose in the front and a Single Ø220 mm diameter disc, Brembo floating caliper with two Ø32 mm isolated pistons. Pump with integrated tank and metal braided hose in the rear. The front suspension was a Öhlins Racing upside-down fork, 43-mm stanchions (with Tin surface treatment). The Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC Special Edition built by Australian Aprilia importer John Sample Automotive, The RSV4 Carbon Special Edition is exclusive with only 20 of the black machines available in Australia only. Based on the 2012 RSV4 Factory APRC, the Italian manufacturer has raided the Aprilia Racing Department cupboards to give it full carbon fibre bodywork; adding to the Akrapovic exhaust, Öhlins suspension and advanced electronics.
