The BMW K 1600 GTL EXCLUSIVE was a Liquid cooled, 4-stroke in-line 6-cylinder engine, four valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts, dry sump lubrication Sport touring motorcycle produced by BMW in 2016. Max torque was 129.08 ft/lbs (175.0 Nm) @ 5250 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 159.98 HP (119.3 KW) @ 7750 RPM.

The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, transverse six cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 12.2:1 compression ratio.
Drive[edit | edit source]
Power was moderated via the Multiplate wet clutch, hydraulically activated.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x ∅320mm discs, 4 piston calipers in the front and a Single ∅320mm disc, 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Dual longitudinal control arm while the rear was equipped with a Paralever (single-sided swing arm), central spring strut, rebound/continuously variable. The K 1600GTL Exclusive was fitted with a 26.5 Liters / 7.0 US gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 321 kg / 708 lbs. The wheelbase was 1680 mm / 66.1 in long.

For 2014, BMW have announced a new iteration of the K1600 tourer the K1600 GTL Exclusive. Still powered by BMWs 175Nm, 160-horsepower inline-six, the K1600 GTL gets more equipment as standard central locking with anti-theft alarm, ESA II electronic suspension adjustment, traction control (DTC), ABS, hill start control and even a film antenna for the radio that is embedded in the topcase lid.
The 2014 K1600 GTL also gets a new, redesigned seat, revised instrumentation, heated backrest and comfortable armrests, LED auxiliary headlights and DRLs, adaptive xenon headlights, a tire pressure monitor, engine protection bar, fully chromed exhaust system, floor lighting and, for the first time on a BMW motorcycle, Keyless Ride.
As befits the K1600 GTL Exclusives top-of-the-range luxury tourer status, the bike gets a new, high-gloss mineral white paintjob, with contrasting shades of magnesium metallic matt and silver metallic radiator fins, plus color-coordinated upholstery for the seat cushions, backrest and pillion passenger armrests.

Spearheading the BMW Motorrad tourer range, the Exclusive model already lays claim to a class-beating specification as standard, including central locking with anti-theft alarm system and ESA II electronic suspension adjustment for an optimum spring/damper setup regardless of load. The Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) boosts safety when accelerating, while the innovative new Hill Start Control feature takes all the hard work out of pulling away uphill, even when carrying a passenger and luggage. Needless to say, the K 1600 GTL Exclusive also comes equipped with BMW Motorrad ABS as standard, like all BMW motorcycles. The film antenna for the radio that is embedded in the topcase lid is a world first and ensures the best possible reception quality while also enhancing the bikes appearance. Long-distance travel comfort for the pillion passenger is taken to greater heights by a new seat, the heated backrest and comfortable armrests. Also to be found on the list of standard equipment are LED auxiliary headlights, adaptive xenon headlight, Tyre Pressure Monitor, additional brake light, engine protection bar, floor lighting, as well as LED daytime running light and, for the first time on a BMW motorcycle, Keyless Ride. The styling of the Exclusive model likewise spells pure luxury from the fuel tanks aluminum moulding through the fully chromed exhaust system to the new-look instrumentation. The color scheme for the new K 1600 GTL Exclusive adds to the sense of elegance and aesthetic appeal. The bodyworks four-coat paint finish in Mineral white metallic high gloss combines to striking effect with the classy chrome surfaces, the contrasting shade of Magnesium metallic matt and the Glacier silver metallic radiator fins. The color-coordinated upholstery for the seat cushions, backrest and pillion passenger armrests adds the perfect finishing touch.

The technology: only the best. The GTL Exclusive also features the silken-soft yet powerful in-line 6-cylinder. Its exclusivity lies in the detail: Hill Start Control for moving off effortlessly on slopes, Keyless Ride automatically releases the steering lock, ignition, fuel tank lid and alarm system as soon as the key is within two meters of the motorcycle. The radio foil aerial antenna is integrated invisibly in the body and the Adaptive headlight with xenon technology enhances visibility and safety. The equipment: uncompromising.
