The BMW R1200R was a twin, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by BMW between 2007 and 2019. It could reach a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h). Max torque was 92.2 ft/lbs (125.0 Nm) @ 6500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 122.3 HP (91.2 KW) @ 7750 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled twin, four-stroke. A 101.0mm bore x 73.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1170.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet eight-disc clutch with anti-hopping function, hydraulically operated.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. abs. four-piston calipers. in the front and a single disc. abs. floating disc. two-piston calipers. in the rear. The front suspension was a upside-down telescopic fork. diameter 45 mm, silver-anodized while the rear was equipped with a cast aluminum single-sided swing-arm with bmw motorrad paralever; wad travel-related damping strut, spring pre-load steplessly and hydraulically adjustable via handwheel, adjustable rebound damping. The R1200R was fitted with a 4.76 Gallon (18.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 436.52 pounds (198.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 59.65 inches (1515 mm) long.

It sports a powerful, air-cooled, four-stroke, 1170cc, boxer twin cylinder powerhouse mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and produces 110 horsepower and 119 Nm of torque, slightly better, as opposed to its previous reincarnation. It features a redesigned cockpit area, with two round analogue instruments, as well as new hydraulic reservoirs with a smoked glass look.

It's performance and safety can be improved, with the addition of the Electronic Suspension Adjustmend, the integral ABS, and the Automatic Stability Control. Also, its unsprung weight has slightly been decreased, with the addition of cast alloy wheels.

It shares its engine, transmission and chassis with the base R 1200 R, but, elements such as the wire spoked wheels with a light alloy flac collar rims, a chrome-plated, stainless steel exhaust system, as well as the increase in power output.

As a true Beemer, it can be fitted with state-of-the-art technologies such as the ESA, integral ABS and ASC.
