The Ducati 748R was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2001 and 2002. Max torque was 55.32 ft/lbs (75.0 Nm) @ 8700 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 105.0 HP (78.3 KW) @ 11000 RPM.

A 88.9mm bore x 88.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 748.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a gear transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multi-plate, hydraulic control.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/60 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 220mm disc, 1-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Ohlins upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The wheelbase was 55.51 inches (1410 mm) long.

The "R"-suffixed version of the 748 from Ducati is a machine that feels at home both on public roads and on the race track. It comes with a 43mm Ohlins upside-down telescopic front fork, an Ohlins central shock strut as a rear suspension, Brembo brakes, a carbon fiver airbox, light-alloy, Marchessini wheels, a full-fairing with a small windscreen, an under-seat exhaust system and a single seat.

In addition, it boasts a maximum power output of 105 horsepower and 74 Nm of torque from its four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 748cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic engine that was paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive.
