The Ducati Streetfighter S was a L-Twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder Desmodromic, liquid cooled Naked motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2009 and 2013. Max torque was 84.82 ft/lbs (115.0 Nm) @ 9500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 155.02 HP (115.6 KW) @ 9500 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled L-Twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder Desmodromic, liquid cooled. A 104.1mm bore x 104.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1099.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multiplate with hydraulic control.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a Pirelli Diablo Corsa 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a Pirelli Diablo Corsa 190/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 320mm semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo callipers 4-piston, 2-pad in the front and a 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Ohlins 43mm fully adjustable usd forks with TiN while the rear was equipped with a Progressive linkage with fully adjustable Ohlins monoshock with top-out spring. The Streetfighter S was fitted with a 4.36 Gallon (16.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 368.17 pounds (167.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.11 inches (1476 mm) long.

Unlike the base model, the "S"-suffixed version of the Ducati Streetfighter has been fitted with an Ohlins suspension package, forged-aluminum Marchessini wheels, a carbon-fiber front fender and cam belt covers and technologies such as Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Data Analyzer, and is sure to fit the taste for those riders who want sportbike performance in a more comfortable naked package.

The Italian engineers have taken the Streetfighter concept up a notch, in the embodiment of the 2013 MY Ducati Streetfighter S. Improvements such as the Öhlins front and rear suspension, carbon fiber front fender and cam belt covers, as well as technologies derived from the Ducati GP department and superbike projects, such as the Ducati Traction Control and DDA-ready, the Brembo braking system and forget wheels take the already powerful Streetfighter to a whole new level of performance.

At its heart lies a proven, powerful, liquid-cooled, Desmodromic L-Twin 1098 “Testastretta Evoluzione” powerplant that produces an asphalt-wrinkling 155 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque. And, tipping the scale at just 167 kg, it is easy to understand why the Streetfighter S is such a big hit among Ducati fans.
