The Highland OUTBACK was a Four-stroke DOHC, liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-twin, 4 valves per cylinder Enduro motorcycle produced by Highland in 2005. Max torque was 76.71 ft/lbs (104.0 Nm) @ 4000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 85.02 HP (63.4 KW) @ 6000 RPM.

A 94.0mm bore x 94.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 936.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6 Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Lubricated mult disc.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 90/90-21 front tire and a 150/70-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 320 mm floating disk, Brembo double piston caliper in the front and a 220 mm disk, with Brembo floating caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 50 mm Marzocchi. 280 mm wheel travel, adjustable compression and rebound while the rear was equipped with a Öhlins, 300 mm wheel travel, adjustable pre-load, compression and rebound. The wheelbase was 60.2 inches (1529 mm) long.

2005 Highland OUTBACK[edit | edit source]

The same liquid cooled, four stroke, 60 degrees, V twin engine installed on the Outback enduro motorcycle is also found on other Highland bikes, providing a displacement of 936cc 85 horsepower at 6000rpm.
