The 2003 ST1300A Pan European ABS is a more safety-focused sport-touring motorcycle than its base-model sibling. Even the base version has a linked-brake system which distributes the stopping power to both wheels even if only one lever is depressed, but with the addition of the anti-locking brakes, things have been taken to the next level.

This 4V machine is not exactly the lightest one around and it needs massive stopping force. While it's 3-piston calipers can already provide plenty of braking power, ABS makes sure that the wheels do not lock, and adds stability when braking on difficult, slippery roads.
