The Honda Steed 400 was a v2, four-stroke standard produced by Honda in 2002. Max torque was 24.34 ft/lbs (33.0 Nm) @ 6000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 30.31 HP (22.6 KW) @ 7500 RPM.

The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 64.0mm bore x 62.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 398.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

The bike has a 5-speed transmission.
