It came with a Dunlop® American Elite 130/60B19 61H front tire and a Dunlop® Elite 3 180/60R16 80H rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x 300 mm Floating Rotor 4 piston calipers in the front and a Single 300 mm Floating Rotor 2 piston calipers in the rear. The front suspension was a 46mm Telescopic forks while the rear was equipped with a Single Shock w/ Air Adjust. The Springfield Dark Horse was fitted with a 20.8 Liters / 5.5 US Gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 349 kg / 770 lbs. The wheelbase was 1700 mm / 67.0 in long.

The Indian Springfield® Dark Horse® family has expanded to include a White Smoke option in addition to the original Thunder Black Smoke option. Both options will boast premium gloss black finishes on the engine’s primary, valve, and cam covers, push-rod tubes, and saddlebag hinges. The exhaust has also been fullyblacked out to complete the dark, custom look. Standard features include Ride Modes, Rear Cylinder Deactivation, remotelocking saddlebags, ABS, cruise control, keyless ignition and tire pressure monitoring. CRAFTED FOR STYLE. MADE TO PERFORM. The Thunder Stroke® 111 is a soul-stirring V-Twin that delivers smooth, impressive power in every gear. These models boast new features that take performance, customization and comfort to the next level – making it easier than ever to match your bike to your riding style. New ride-enhancing technology like selectable Ride Modes and Rear Cylinder Deactivation let you ride your way, with more comfort. Plus, new gloss black finishes on Dark Horse® models and an improved audio system on Roadmaster® make your ride look and sound better.


Developed in direct response to rider feedback, the new technology features focus on improving performance, comfort, and providing more customization. The new features include:


Selectable Ride Modes Riders can now choose between three Ride Modes on the fly – Tour, Standard or Sport – for a ride experience that’s customized to their riding style. The throttle map for each Ride Mode was designed with a specific application in mind, resulting in one motorcycle with three distinct personalities. “Tour” mode features a smooth throttle response for relaxed cruising. “Standard” mode features a crisp throttle response and well-balanced power delivery for responsive passing power and predictable, slow-speed handling. And finally, “Sport” mode features an instant throttle response and aggressive power delivery for head-snapping acceleration. Rear Cylinder Deactivation To increase rider comfort, all Thunder Stroke® 111 models are now equipped with Rear Cylinder Deactivation. When the engine reaches operating temperature and the ambient temperature exceeds 59⁰ F, the rear cylinder will automatically deactivate when the bike is at a standstill, resulting in less engine heat for improved comfort in slow-moving or stopped traffic. The rear cylinder instantly reactivates when throttle is applied for a seamless transition to full power. Enhanced Audio System Several enhancements have been made to Indian Motorcycle’s stock audio system to significantly improve sound quality. First, the tweeters have been separated from the mid-range speakers to optimize sound output and clarity. Second, a dynamic equalizer that’s fully customizable now adjusts specific frequencies at different vehicle speeds to provide peak system performance at all times. As speed increases, the equalizer automatically adjusts each frequency to the optimal level to compensate for road, wind and engine noise. The result is crystal clear, 100-watt premium audio at all speeds.

Springfield Dark Horse is now offered in two colors –Thunder Black Smoke and a new White Smoke option. Also, notable for Springfield Dark Horse is the addition of the iconic Indian headdress on the front fender and a 19” contrast-cut wheel. THUNDER STROKE® 111 ENGINE The award-winning V-Twin delivers 119 ft-lbs of torque for quick acceleration and plenty of passing power in every gear. This impressive performance is paired with a distinctive, throaty rumble from dual exhaust pipes.

RIDE COMMAND® It’s the largest, fastest, most customizable infotainment system on two wheels. The seven-inch Ride Command® system with a glove-compatible touchscreen display features turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth® connectivity, vehicle information and much more. It’s easy to customize your split-screen displays to only see what you want to see. KEYLESS IGNITION Keyless starting is secure and convenient. With an Indian Motorcycle® key fob in your pocket, just climb on the bike, push a button and take off. If you misplace the fob, use your customizable security code to start it up. ADDITIONAL STANDARD FEATURES All Thunder Stroke® 111 models are also equipped with automotive quality throttle-by-wire cruise control and a reliable anti-lock braking system. Chief® Vintage, Indian Springfield® and Roadmaster® also feature spacious saddlebags. Additionally, Chief® Vintage and Indian Springfield® feature a quick release windshield while Roadmaster® touts an adjustable power windshield. PERFORMANCE UPGRADES You can unleash more power, improve throttle response and get a deeper exhaust note with upgrades like Stage 1 Exhaust, a Thunder Stroke® High Flow Air Intake, and Stage 2 Performance Cams.
