In 1996, the Estrella BJ 250C2 replaced the single seater BJ 250 in the Kawasaki Deutschland program. It was at the same time the last officially imported version of the Estrella to Germany. At first sight the German Estrella hardly differed from the Japanese. The most distinctive distinguishing features between German and Japanese BJ 250C2 are the round mirrors and the larger round turn signals. The taillight and number plate holders are also different.
