The Kawasaki EN400 Vulcan was a twin, four-stroke standard produced by Kawasaki in 1992. It could reach a top speed of 93 mph (150 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 43.99 HP (32.8 KW) @ 9000 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled twin, four-stroke. A 70.0mm bore x 51.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 399.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 100/90-19 front tire and a 140/90-15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The EN400 Vulcan was fitted with a 2.64 Gallon (10.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 401.24 pounds (182.0 Kg).
1992 - 1997 Kawasaki EN400 VULCAN[edit | edit source]
The Kawasaki EN400 Vulcan was announced in 1986, and although aimed at the North American market, sold very well in Japanese 400cc license friendly home market. The four stroke parallel twin was up to the mark with 45bhp @ 9000rpm, allowing the 184kg double overhead camshaft machine to perform as well or better than any of the 400cc-cruiser competition. A six-speed gearbox ensured the rev happy over square engine could be kept on the boil, in a very non-cruiser like way!
1995 Kawasaki Vulcan 400[edit | edit source]
The 1995 MY Kawasaki Vulcan 400 has, at its heart, an air-cooled, four-stroke, 399cc, V-Twin powerhouse mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and can produce a claimed 33 horsepower and 32 Nm of torque.
This entry-level cruiser addresses the younger among riders, and comes standard with a chromed exhaust system, laced wheels, dual shocks as a rear suspension, pull-back handlebars, a dual seat with passenger backrest, an analogue instrument cluster, a blacked-out frame, and a raked-out, telescopic front fork.
