The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 52.4mm bore x 57.8mm stroke result in a displacement of just 125.0 cubic centimeters.

The bike has a 5-speed transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 70/90-17 front tire and a 110/80-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a twin shock absorber. The XTR-S 125 was fitted with a 2.91 Gallon (11.00 Liters) fuel tank.
