The Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa Special Edition was a 4-stroke, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve, TSCC Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Suzuki in 2003. Max torque was 104.0 ft/lbs (141.0 Nm) @ 7000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 175.0 HP (130.5 KW) @ 9800 RPM.

A 81.3mm bore x 81.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1298.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-Speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-ZR17 front tire and a 190/50-ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 320mm hydraulic discs in the front and a Single disc, 240 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Inverted telescopic, coil spring, fully adjustable spring preload, 14-way adjustable rebound damping and 13-way adjustable compression damping while the rear was equipped with a Link-type, gas/oil damped, fully adjustable spring preload, 22-way adjustable compression & rebound damping. The wheelbase was 58.5 inches (1486 mm) long.

Suzuki has a long and neat tradition of delivering Special Edition models for their most popular models every now and them, and 2002 sees the launch of the 2003 MY GSX-1300R Hayabusa Special Edition. The SE Hayabusa is displayed in a striking copper livery which will definitely turn a lot of heads.

On the tech side, the Special Edition Hayabusa is identical to the base model, with 175 horsepower available at 9800 revs, and a smooth-shifting 6-speed gearbox, a back-torque limiter clutch and many works-derived features for a sizzling hot on-road performance.
