The Yamaha FZ-S6 FAZER was a Liquid Cooled, Four Stroke, Transverse Four Cylinder, DOHC, 4 Valves Per Cylinder Sport touring motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1998 and 2002. Max torque was 47.94 ft/lbs (65.0 Nm) @ 9500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 94.94 HP (70.8 KW) @ 11500 RPM.

A 62.0mm bore x 62.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 599.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6 Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-discs.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 110/70-17 front tire and a 160/60-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x298mm Discs 4 Piston Calipers in the front and a Single 214mm Disc 2 Piston Caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm Telescopic Fork Non Adjustable while the rear was equipped with a Rising-rate Monoshock Non Adjustable. The wheelbase was 55.91 inches (1420 mm) long.

This model of Fazer 600 use a re-turned version of the Thundercat engine, in a steel tube frame. The 599 cc engine is fitted with smaller carburetors, providing the Fazer with superior low-down and mid-range torque for effortless, fast progress.

Unlike the Bandit or Hornet, the Fazer comes only as a half-faired model. For 2002, teh Fazer received a minor update, in the shape of a larger-capacity fuel tank up to 20 liters. With this size of tank the range has been inproved, making the Fazer even more user-friendly.
