The Yamaha FZ-S 1000 Fazer was a Liquid Cooled, Four Stroke, Transverse Four Cylinder, DOHC, 5 Valves Per Cylinder Naked motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 2001. Max torque was 78.19 ft/lbs (106.0 Nm) @ 7500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 143.09 HP (106.7 KW) @ 10000 RPM.

A 73.9mm bore x 73.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 998.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 180/55-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x298 Mm Discs 4 Pistons Calipers in the front and a Single 268 Mm Disc 2 Piston Caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic Fork while the rear was equipped with a Link-type Swing Arm. The wheelbase was 57.09 inches (1450 mm) long.

The new Yamaha FZ-S 1000 Fazer is easy, predictable and capable of going quickly on the road. But the forks are quite soft and the front sits quite high. It’ll drag its undercarriage easily enough but it doesn’t feel that composed doing it. Firming up the Yamaha FZ-S 1000 Fazer's suspension with the adjusters and raising the forks.
