The Yamaha FZ8 was a in-line four, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 2010 and 2015. Max torque was 60.48 ft/lbs (82.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 102.45 HP (76.4 KW) @ 10000 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 68.0mm bore x 53.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 779.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Multiplate clutch.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. hydraulic. in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork, adjustable compression and rebound, 5.1-in travel while the rear was equipped with a single shock, adjustable preload and rebound damping, 5.1-in travel. The FZ8 was fitted with a 4.5 Gallon (17.03 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 465.18 pounds (211.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 57.52 inches (1461 mm) long.

The 2010 MY Yamaha FZ8 introduces sub-liter-class convenience, filling in a niche which seems to be favored by more and more riders in search of an intermediate sporty and convenient solution. The machine sports the same aggressive attire of the FZ1, with even more refined edges and a more menacing look, but comfort is a premium feature for both rider and passenger.

Great as a brawny commuter, this brawler can also become a trustworthy touring partner when equipped with accessory luggage systems. With north of 100 horsies, the 2010 Yamaha FZ8 is one truly thrilling ride.

The recently introduced Yamaha FZ8 filled in the gap for riders in search of a naked bike not too big and not too small. Its sub-liter engine proved to be the right size for this segment, as it allowed the bike to feel both sporty and manageable, even for intermediate riders who were maybe intimidated by the FZ1.

Still, the 2011 MY FZ8 boasts an aggressive design and packs north of 100 hp for excellent passing nerve and swift rides in or around the city. A well-mannered all-rounder, the FZ8 is also ready to take on any roads.

A sporty all-rounder with racing DNA and “civilian” handling, the 2012 MY Yamaha FZ8 is pure fun in a glorious shape and offering top-notch performance in an affordable package which also looks good. Derived from the liter-class FZ1, the FZ8 sports the same upright position which makes it less fatiguing for longer rides, while retaining top maneuverability: commuting, twisties, even touring with additional luggage racks, this bike can do it all.

With an R-series inspired engine, the 2012 MY Yamaha FZ8 is quite a shot of adrenaline when ridden hard. An aluminum frame keeps a watch on the weight and offers both comfortable architecture and the needed stiffness for surefooted precise handling. ABS available as an option, the bike also comes with top-notch brakes and adjustable suspensions.

The FZ8 fills the gap for sport riders who feel a 600cc is too small and a 1000cc is too big. Its 779cc engine combines top end components, including ceramic-composite-coated cylinders and forged aluminum pistons, with a carefully optimized crankshaft to deliver the perfect power curve and torquey performance character for this category.

The 2013 model sports a naked bike styling which gives an aggressive, mass-forward stance with a comfortable, upright riding position with a compact design that contributes to the bike’s first-rate handling.

New muffler shape adds to the visual appeal making for a more attractive design and rebound damping adjustable suspension allows riders to adjust the machine depending on rider and passenger needs, for sport touring or urban assault.
