The Yamaha MT-07 was a twin, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 2014 and 2019. Max torque was 50.16 ft/lbs (68.0 Nm) @ 6500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 72.42 HP (54.0 KW) @ 9000 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled twin, four-stroke. A 80.0mm bore x 68.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 689.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet, multiple disc.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. hydraulic. abs. in the front and a single disc. hydraulic single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a single shock, adjustable preload and rebound damping. The MT-07 was fitted with a 3.7 Gallon (14.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 361.56 pounds (164.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.12 inches (1400 mm) long.

Weighing just 179 kg (394 lb-ft) fuelled and ready to go, it’s hard to believe the MT-07 has a steel frame and swingarm. That lack of weight makes the Yamaha easy to manage at low speed, maximizes braking performance, improves agility on the move and generally makes the MT-07 simple to ride, especially when matched to such a friendly engine.
