The Yamaha V-Star 1100 Custom was a Air-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve, 75°, V-twin Cruiser motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 2000 and 2011. Max torque was 64.17 ft/lbs (87.0 Nm) @ 2500 RPM.

A 94.0mm bore x 94.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1063.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5 speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 110/90-18 front tire and a 170/80-15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual hydraulic disc, 298mm in the front and a Hydraulic disc, 282mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic 41mm fork while the rear was equipped with a Single shock; adjustable preload. The wheelbase was 64.61 inches (1641 mm) long.

Entry-level may not be exactly the best choice of words for an 1,063cc v-twin, but it is the smallest of the big Yamaha machines. Boasting the same rider-friendly character like the V-Star 1100 Classic, the 2010 MY V-Star 1100 Custom introduces several styling changes which will surely appeal to a lot of motorcyclists. The cast wheels have been replaced by wire spoked ones, for a more traditional feel, while the fenders have also been modified. Gone are the deeply valanced ones, replaced by a short front one and a bobbed rear unit.

On the tech side, the V-Star 1100 Custom is similar to the Classic version, sporting the same mannered 1063cc airhead v-twin and exposed shaft drive for enhanced convenience.

Closer to the old-school choppers, the 2011 MY V-Star 1100 Custom boasts a compact design which still offers a comfy two-up ride. The low, sculpted seat is positioned inside the frame, with the rear fender serving as a lower back support, and the forward controls leaving plenty of room for the legs.

A skinnier front wheel than that of the Classic model was used, together with a small fender, for a svelter attire. The engine remains the 1063cc air-cooled unit, with the peak torque already reached at 2500 revs for lots of fun in any situation.
