The bike has a 5 speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 130/90-16 front tire and a 170/80-15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual hydraulic disc, 298mm in the front and a Hydraulic disc, 282mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic 41mm fork, 5.5-in travel while the rear was equipped with a Single shock; adjustable preload, 4.5-in travel. The wheelbase was 64.8 inches (1646 mm) long.
2008 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Silverado Canadian Edition[edit | edit source]
Canadian riders are lucky again, as they receive a cooler version of the 2008 MY V-Star 1100 Silverado, boasting a two-tone black & cream livery. The cylinders are painted black, with contrasting polished fins, but the cases and transmission retained the shiny looks. The bike si aesthetically and technically identical to the base model, but the cream paint adds a most strong retro attire to it.
