The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 3.00-19 front tire and a 110/90-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single Disc 1 Piston Caliper in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic Forks while the rear was equipped with a Single Shock, Adjustable Spring Preload. The XJ 400 was fitted with a 1.06 Gallon (4.00 Liters) fuel tank.
