The Yamaha XS 1100 Sport was a Air Cooled, Four Stroke, Transverse Four Cylinder, DOHC, 2 Valves Per Cylinder Classic motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 1981. Max torque was 66.38 ft/lbs (90.0 Nm) @ 6500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 94.94 HP (70.8 KW) @ 8500 RPM.

A 71.1mm bore x 71.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1102.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-discs.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 3.50-19 front tire and a 4.50-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x298mm Discs in the front and a Single 298mm Disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic Forks while the rear was equipped with a Dual Shocks Swing Arm.

Brought into Europe for the 1981 season, this big Yamaha was fundamentally unchanged from the original. The engine still put out 95 hp but handling, claimed the makers has been improved with a new rear suspension units with four way damping control. New too on this latest exess were Yamaha has called ,,italic spoke wheels,,.
