The Ducati 1198 was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2010 and 2011. Max torque was 97.36 ft/lbs (132.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 170.04 HP (126.8 KW) @ 9750 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder. A 106.7mm bore x 106.7mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1198.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multiplate, hydraulic.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 330mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Showa fully-adjustable upside-down fork, TiO-coated while the rear was equipped with a Showa fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The 1198 was fitted with a 4.09 Gallon (15.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 376.99 pounds (171.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 56.3 inches (1430 mm) long.
The Ducati 1198 is a sport bike produced by the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati beginning 2009. Ducati offers three models of the bike: the 1198, 1198S and 1198R.[2]
The 1198 shares identical design elements with its predecessor 1098, but has more power and torque, redesigned wheels, lighter headlights, traction control and lighter fairings (on the S model), and a few minor paint changes.[3] Another carryover from its 998 heritage is a distinctive single-sided swingarm.
The Ducati 1198 models color are available in red, white and black.

The 1198/1198 S makes a manufacturer claimed Template:Convert, Template:Auto ftlbf torque, and weighs Template:Convert.[4] The 0-60 mph time is less than 2.5 seconds and top speed is estimated at Template:Convert.[5] The 1198 R makes a manufacturer claimed Template:Convert, Template:Auto ftlbf torque.[4]

The 2010 MY Ducati 1198 has standard fittings such as a TiO-coated, 43mm Showa fully-adjustable upside-down fork, a rear Showa fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage, Brembo brakes, a full-fairing with a small windscreen, a digital instrumentation panel, dual headlights, blacked-out, lightweight wheels, a single seat, an under-seat mounted dual exhaust system and offers a choice between a white or led livery with blacked-out finishes.
In the engine department it sports a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 1198cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerhouse, mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive, that can produce a claimed 170 horsepower and 132 Nm of torque.
2011 Ducati 1198[edit | edit source]
The 2011 MY Ducati 1198 boasts a maximum power output of 170 horsepower and 132 Nm of torque from its four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 1198cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerplant that was paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive and a dry clutch.
In addition, it comes equipped with a TiO-coated, 43mm Showa fully-adjustable upside-down fork, a rear Showa fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage, Brembo brakes, a full-fairing with a small windscreen, a digital instrumentation panel, dual headlights, blacked-out, lightweight wheels, a single seat, and an under-seat mounted dual exhaust system.
