The Kawasaki VN400 Classic was a v2, four-stroke standard produced by Kawasaki in 1996. It could reach a top speed of 87 mph (140 km/h). Max torque was 23.6 ft/lbs (32.0 Nm) @ 4500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 32.32 HP (24.1 KW) @ 8500 RPM.

The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 62.0mm bore x 66.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 399.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet plates.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 130/90-16 front tire and a 140/90-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. 2-piston calipers in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a swing arm - monoshock. The VN400 Classic was fitted with a 3.96 Gallon (15.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 513.68 pounds (233.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 63.19 inches (1605 mm) long.
