The Kawasaki VN900 Classic was a v2, four-stroke Cruiser motorcycle produced by Kawasaki between 2006 and 2014. Max torque was 57.53 ft/lbs (78.0 Nm) @ 3700 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 48.54 HP (36.2 KW) @ 5700 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 88.0mm bore x 74.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 903.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 130/90-m16 front tire and a 180/70-m15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a 41 mm telescopic fork with 7-way preload while the rear was equipped with a uni-trak. The VN900 Classic was fitted with a 5.28 Gallon (20.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 582.02 pounds (264.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 64.96 inches (1650 mm) long.

After the initial 2005 model was launched with a 54 hp engine, Kawasaki has subsequently decided to keep the power rating to a round 50 value, and the 2007 VN900 Classic is also one of the tuned-down machines. The 2012 Kawasaki VN900 Classic Special Edition retains all the nifty features one meets in the standard models, but offers an eye-candy custom graphics scheme with a sober combination of matte black and chromed parts, accentuated by the white racing stripe and fiery red pinstripe.
