The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 54.0mm bore x 54.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 125.0 cubic centimeters. The engine features a 11.2:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

The bike has a automatic transmission. The final drive was via belt. Power was moderated via the wet, multiplate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/80-14 front tire and a 150/70-13 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. floating discs. in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic forks, upper and lower triple tree while the rear was equipped with a 5 position adjustable dual shocks. The Downtown 125i ABS is fitted with a 3.3 Gallon (12.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighs just 368.17 pounds (167.0 Kg). The wheelbase is 60.83 inches (1545 mm) long.

The 2015 MY Kymco Downtown 125i ABS sports a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 124cc, single cylinder powerhouse mated to a continuously variable transmission, and can produce 14 horsepower and 12 Nm of torque. In addition, this spacious scooter comes standard with features that enhance its long haul capabilities, such as the large windscreen for better protection against the elements, a dual shock absorber rear suspension which improves its comfort level, and a under-seat storage compartment which can house two full-face helmets.
