The Suzuki GSX1100G was a in-line four, four-stroke Sport touring motorcycle produced by Suzuki between 1980 and 1996. It could reach a top speed of 137 mph (220 km/h). Max torque was 79.59 ft/lbs (107.9 Nm) @ 7000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 93.87 HP (70.0 KW) @ 8000 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a oil & air cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 78.0mm bore x 59.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1127.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/80-16 front tire and a 150/80-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic Fork while the rear was equipped with a Dual Shock Oil Damped. The GSX1100G was fitted with a 5.55 Gallon (21.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 575.41 pounds (261.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.82 inches (1494 mm) long.
1981 - 1994 Suzuki GSX 1100 S Katana[edit | edit source]
The GSX 1100S Katana was by no means all smart suit and no substance; far from it. Underneath the radical looks there lurked a very fine motorcycle, directly developed from worthy generations of the GS model. In fact the GSX 1100S was no more than a lightly tweaked and tarted GSX 1100E, with all the rumbling reliability this implies.
