Supplied Harley-Davidson with sidecars up to 1925, when founder B.F. Rogers died and the company was bought by Eros Manufacturing. Rogers always resisted Harley-Davidson's demands for it to make sidecars for it exclusively, and carried on selling to other manufacturers such as Ace and Excelsior. However, Harley-Davidson did persuade Rogers to build a special wide-bodied sidecar which would carry two adults. Its 56”in (143.5cm) track was the same as the standard US car track, though it was designed more with exports in mind rather than the home market.
