The Honda GL1500 Gold Wing SE was a liquid-cooled horizontally-opposed six cylinder, 4-stroke Touring motorcycle produced by Honda between 1988 and 2000. It could reach a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h). Max torque was 110.64 ft/lbs (150.0 Nm) @ 4000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 100.04 HP (74.6 KW) @ 5200 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled liquid-cooled horizontally-opposed six cylinder, 4-stroke. A 68.6mm bore x 68.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1520.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 130/70H-18 front tire and a 160/80-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual discs with twin-piston calipers in the front and a single disc with twin-piston calipers, CBS in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm fork with TRAC anti-dive 140mm of travel while the rear was equipped with a air-assisted (right-hand only) dual shocks; 105 mm of travel. The GL1500 Gold Wing SE was fitted with a 6.08 Gallon (23.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 820.12 pounds (372.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 66.5 inches (1689 mm) long.

The GL 1500 Gold Wing SE, first produced in 1993 and manufactured till 2000, had 100 horsepower at 5250rpm and a torque of 159Nm at 4000rpm.

2000 Honda GL1500 Gold Wing SE

The GL1500 Gold Wing SE manufactured in 1999 marks the 25th anniversary of the bike which redefined asphalt touring, and this special edition brings in quite a long list of changes and upgrades. Aside from the distinctive 25th Anniversary badges on the tank, the bike comes with plenty of chromed details, high-contrast dash colors, chromed engine covers,, a new two-tone paint and two-way adjustable passenger pegs.

Adjustable wind protection and rider leg warmers are also in standard trim, as well as illuminated bar and radio switches, a cassette player, 40-chann CB radio and 4 speakers.
