The engine was a air cooled air/oil cooled, four stroke, parallel twin, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder. A 78.5mm bore x 78.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 668.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a gears transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 170/60 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x320mm discs 4 piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 40mm WP upside-down forks, adjustable rebound and damping while the rear was equipped with a WP rising rate adjustable preload, rebound and damping. The bike weighed just 407.86 pounds (185.0 Kg).

Unlike its 650 siblings, the 1997 MY Laverda 668 has received a new twin headlight and a revised fairing. In other aspects, it is virtually unchanged, sharing its features and specs with its 650 forefathers. At its heart lies an air-cooled, four-stroke, 668cc, parallel twin cylinder powerhouse mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and can produce 70 horsepower and 61 Nm of torque. It addition, a WP suspension package, formed by a 40 mm inverted fork in the front and a rising rate monoshock in the rear ensure increased comfort for the rider, as well as improved maneuverability.
