Lightweight, agile and powerful, the Aprilia SL750 SHIVER is driven by a brand new 90° V twin engine with four valves per cylinder. Putting out 95 HP at 9,000 rpm, this extremely compact unit delivers similar power to an equivalent four cylinder engine, while maintaining all the benefits of a twin in terms of torque (81 Nm at 7,000 rpm) and riding pleasure.

The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 92.0mm bore x 56.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 749.9 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. The front suspension was a 43 mm upside-down fork. while the rear was equipped with a aluminum alloy swingarm with reinforcement truss. hydraulic shock absorber adjustable in spring preload and rebound damping.. The Shiver Sport 750 ABS was fitted with a 3.96 Gallon (15.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 416.67 pounds (189.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 56.69 inches (1440 mm) long.

These extraordinary results have been achieved in part by the fact that the new SHIVER is the first production motorcycle in the world to use ride-by-wire electronic throttle control to optimize throttle valve aperture on the basis of a range of parameters including engine speed, gear selection, throttle grip position and movement speed, temperature and atmospheric pressure. The new system guarantees consistently exceptional performance in top-end acceleration and low-end pickup, with smooth, effortless, low rev torque and reduced fuel consumption. The result is a smoother, more satisfying ride and unrivalled performance on the open road.
The APRILIA SHIVER’s new 750cc V twin is also the first Aprilia road-going motorcycle engine to be designed, developed and manufactured entirely within the group, in keeping with the same strategy for technological innovation that has already seen the launch of Aprilia’s 450 and 550 cc off road twins.
As Aprilia tradition demands, the SHIVER’S chassis is simply unique in this class of motorcycle. The innovative, mixed trellis and aluminum frame delivers standard-setting rigidity to guarantee safety and precision control in the hands of inexperienced riders as well as experts. Thanks in part to this amazing frame, the new SHIVER weighs in at only 189 kg.
The braking system is impressive too. The SHIVER boasts the same, generous 320 mm front discs as Aprilia’s flagship models RSV 1000 and Tuono 1000 R.

The 2007 Aprilia Shiver 750 is a naked bike which is eager to ride hard, and offers even intermediate riders a feeling of being in control. Enter the ABS-equipped version of the Shiver: a naked bike retaining all the sporty character and the maneuverability of the base model, but now offered with the added safety and peace of mind anti-locking brakes bring. Adding the latest 2-channel ABS to the racing-grade brakes with radial front calipers brings even more control in the hands of the skilled rider.

2009 Aprilia Shiver 750 GT[edit | edit source]
In love with the Shiver 750 but a completely naked bike is a bot too much for you? No problem, you should most likely be riding the GT version, now with more bodywork installed and offering better protection against the wind. The half-fairing and the windscreen help the rider tuck away better and have less wind to confront, making the bike more comfortable for longer trips.
Able to fulfill pretty much ay dream, from daily commuting to summer touring and from fast rides on winding countryside roads to aggressive track racing, the 2008 Shiver 750 GT also comes with premium brakes and triple mappings, ride by wire and optional ABS.

The 2010 MY Aprilia Shiver 750 GT is a touring-oriented version of the base model, that comes standard with side panniers, a rear luggage bag and a front one, plus ABS as standard. In all other departments, it features the same features as the base Shiver 750.
At its heart lies a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 749cc, V-Twin powerhouse mated to a six-speed manual transmission and can reach a maximum power output of 95 horsepower and 81 Nm of torque.
2010 Aprilia Shiver 750[edit | edit source]
Sporty and offering exceptional maneuverability, the 2009 Shiver 750 is Aprilia's naked middleweight fighter, a bike which also provides the rider with enhanced comfort through revised ergonomics.
Add in a lot of features which make riding an even more thrilling experience: the precise ride by wire throttle system, multiple engine mappings, revised pegs and handlebar positions and the new saddle for enhanced freedom of movement. The bodywork was also updated and 2-channel Continental ABS is now offered as an option.

The 2011 MY Aprilia Shiver 750 GT has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 749cc, V-Twin powerhouse mated to a six-speed manual transmission and can produce a claimed 95 horsepower and 81 Nm of torque. It also comes standard with side panniers, a rear pannier and even a fuel-tank bag, for longer hauls. Other features include a ride-by-wire technology, an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), a 43mm upside-down fork, ABS as standard and an adjustable monoshock as a rear suspension.

In love with Aprilia's Shiver 750 but not exactly a fan of a true naked bike? No problem, just throw a leg over the new 2011 Shiver 750 GT ABS and enjoy the ride. The bike retains the full character, engine and safety-focused features of the 750 ABS version, but brings in a semi-naked design with a half-fairing.

The 2013 MY Aprilia Shiver 750 GT is mainly addressed for riders that want an agile and comfortable machine, but one that is also capable of extender hauls. Unlike the base model, it comes standard with panniers mounted on the sides in the rear and on the fuel tank. Also, it has a small windscreen for increased wind protection.

2014 Aprilia Shiver 750[edit | edit source]
Available only for US customers, the 2014 MY Aprilia Shiver 750 sports a four-valve, fuel-injected 839cc L-twin, capable of producing 76 horsepower and 73 Nm of torque.
As with all Aprilia models, state-of-the-art technologies have been fitted in the Shiver, making the two-wheeler as user-friendly as possible. The standard RBW throttle, which has been taken a step further thanks to the racing experience of the RSV4, allows the rider to choose from three options to radically change the motorcycle's character.
2015 Aprilia Shiver 750[edit | edit source]
The 2015 MY Aprilia Shiver 750 sports a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 749cc L-twin capable of producing 96 horsepower and 81 Nm of torque. The brakes are an interesting feature on the Shiver. With radial callipers that were first introduced in this model, the discs received a new wave design that, aside from the aesthetic impact, make the brakes more efficient and responsive.
The ride-by-wire is also available as standard on the two-wheeler, with three easy-to-select settings, which can be activated even while moving, but with the throttle down. The choices for the rider are: sport, which reveals the Italian superbike DNA this bike is infused with, touring - for more relaxed engine response and smooth power delivery, or rain, for when the going gets tough and extra help is needed to keep the bike on the tarmac.
For more safety-oriented European customers, the Shiver is available for purchase with standard ABS.
