The Honda CB500X is a very affordable adventure bike engineered for tackling both the urban jungle and light trail routes, providing a rewarding experience in both scenarios. Light, nimble and sporting a low center of gravity, the CB500X is easy to flip and handles like a dream, while the ample suspensions are great when leaving the asphalt behind.

The half-liter parallel-twin engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and provides constant torque and power across the whole rpm band, making the CB500X easy to operate even on rough ground. Add in the commanding upright riding position for more comfort and control, and the excellent range offered by the 17-liter tank for a bike that's truly calling for adventure.

2013 Honda CB500X ABS[edit | edit source]

The nifty Honda CB500X middleweight adventure bike receives enhanced security by means of the anti-locking brakes which are offered as an option over the base specifications. When riding on asphalt, knowing you can stop in a shorter distance is a reassuring feeling, while being able to brake harder when riding in the wet as maintaining stability gives more peace of mid, as well.

As for the rest, the CB500X ABS retains the versatile character of the base version, with excellent on-road capabilities and enough nerve, comfort and maneuverability when going for some light trail riding.

2014 Honda CB500X

The 2013 CB500X is the second-year model of the new middleweight adventure bike Honda introduced to fill the 500cc niche. This bike retains all the centralized mass-design of the family, and brings in several touring-worthy features to make life more beautiful when in the saddle.

This bike comes with a larger tank for extended range, a more upright position and an adjustable windscreen, revised suspensions and a wider handlebar to make steering on rough terrain easier and more reassuring. Add in the non-intimidating but eager nature of the 471cc parallel-twin engine, and think about your next vacation destination, solo or with a passenger and a fully-loaded bike.

An all-rounder with a very prominent adventure character, the 2013 CB500X ABS benefits from the addition of anti-locking brakes, as an option. Road safety-focused riders will appreciate this add-on for their middleweight two-wheelers, especially as it only brings several extra pounds.

The CB500X ABS remains faithful to the family philosophy: a nimble, light machine which can do well both on asphalt and off the road, with great city-slicing capabilities and a highly practical nature, fir for both new and more experienced riders. Cue in the economical engine and you've got a super-sweet first bike.

2016 Honda CB500X[edit | edit source]

The Honda CB500X is back again for 2016 as it should be because it’s been one of the better sellers out of the 500 cc trio from Honda that include the CBR500R sport bike, CB500F naked sport bike / streetfighter and the CB500X adventure bike that we’re covering here. The CB500X was first released back in 2013 and I’ve got to say I was rather surprised to see Honda was throwing some upgrades & changes at the CB500X so quickly. The CB500X adventure motorcycle gets a major boost to its crossover style with improved wind protection thanks to being able to adjust the compact windscreen to varying heights (plus it’s 100mm taller this year), other upgrades include a larger fuel tank that is carefully shaped to give the rider an unrestricted riding position, restyled LED lighting with a new headlight and tailight, spring preload adjustable front forks and adjustable brake lever. a hinged fuel-tank filler cap, front suspension that’s now adjustable for spring preload, and a front-brake lever that’s adjustable too.
