The Ducati Monster 796 Corse Stripe was a air-cooled, L-Twin, 2 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder Naked motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2010 and 2015. Max torque was 58.27 ft/lbs (79.0 Nm) @ 6250 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 87.03 HP (64.9 KW) @ 8250 RPM.

Engine[edit]

The engine was a air cooled air-cooled, L-Twin, 2 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder. A 88.9mm bore x 88.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 803.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.

Drive[edit]

The bike has a chain transmission. Power was moderated via the APTC wet multiplate with hydraulic control, self-servo action on drive, slipper action on over-run.

Chassis[edit]

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 320mm discs, 4-piston radial caliper, ABS in the front and a 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper, ABS in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm upside-down forks while the rear was equipped with a progressive linkage with preload and rebound adjustable monoshock. The Monster 796 Corse Stripe was fitted with a 1.06 Gallon (4.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 372.58 pounds (169.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 57.09 inches (1450 mm) long.

With the occasion of 20 years since the Monster family has been in production, the House of Borgo Panigale have designed the 2013 MY Ducati Monster 796 20th Anniversary. It has the same air-cooled powerplant and technologies as the base Monster 796, but with some special visual features that distinguish the 20th Anniversary model from the base one. Features such as the bronze frame, the gold brake callipers and front disc carriers, the champagne front fork bodies, the grey swingarm, engine outer casings and lower triple-clamp, the chrome headlamp support, 90's style rear-view mirrors and seat fapric plus some restyled bodywork components ensure the 2013 MY Ducati Monster 796 20th Anniversary will be the center of attention in almost any crowd.

Modern technologies such as the APTC clutch, ABS as standard and DDA-ready mean improved power delivery as well as a more user-friendly machine, while the high-end suspension system, composed of 43mm Marzocchi forks and the Sachs rear suspension make for a plush ride and improved cornering abilities. Visually, it features the trademark Monster concept of "less is more", with all its components displayed proudly, and offers a choice between Ducati red, arctic white silk or black silk paint schemes, with a red frame and black wheels.

The 2014 MY Ducati Monster 796 is powered by an air-cooled, 796cc, Desmodromic L-Twin, with two valves per cylinder, which can produce 87 horsepower and 78 Nm of torque. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed manual transmission with an APTC clutch, which is user-friendly and also increases the overall performance of the two-wheeler. ABS as standard and Brembo high-quality brakes make the bike safer even under treacherous road conditions. The lightweight aluminum trellis frame is proudly on display, and not only does it look good, it significantly increases maneuverability. The single-sided swingarm combined with the rear monoshock suspension add a more aggressive and modern touch, as well as contributing to the plush ride and improved maneuverability of the two-wheeler.

The 2015 MY Ducati 796 Corse Stripe sports an air-cooled, 803cc L-Twin with two Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder mated to a six-speed manual transmission that features a APTC wet multiplate clutch with hydraulic control. The engine produces 87 horsepower and 78 Nm of torque. The trellis frame is rigid but also lightweight and significantly increases maneuverability in tight bends, as well as the lightweight five-spoked wheels. Technology-wise, it comes with ABS as standard, for increased rider safety while on the road and improved track performance, and a stopwatch function, that stores each lap time, allowing the rider to manually compare the best times around the track.

Visually, the machine comes with a new, sportier design, with the special Corse Stripe livery, giving it a proper, Italian superbike appearance.
