The BMW R32 was a two cylinder boxer, four-stroke Classic motorcycle produced by BMW between 1923 and 1926. It could reach a top speed of 59 mph (95 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 8.45 HP (6.3 KW) @ 3200 RPM.
Intro[edit | edit source]
The R32 was the first BMW motorcycle ever manufactured. It was powered by a boxer engine that produced 8bhp at 3300 RPM. It was a rather expensive motorcycle but sold well due to it's clever design and nice fit and finish.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a air cooled two cylinder boxer, four-stroke. A 68.0mm bore x 68.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 494.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 3-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the single plate dry-cable operated.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 2.99-26 front tire and a 2.99-26 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a leading link while the rear was equipped with a hard-tail, sprung seat. The R32 was fitted with a 3.7 Gallon (14.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 54.33 inches (1380 mm) long.
